Hi, I’m CHISOMO (she/her)

I am a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist based in Ontario, providing virtual therapy for adults (18+). With over ten years of experience in both community and clinical settings, I bring a deep appreciation for holistic and culturally responsive approaches to mental health and wellness.

I recognize that there is no “one-size-fits-all” model for healing. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and inclusive—grounded in anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and strength-based practices. I honour the unique experiences, identities, and cultural backgrounds of every person I work with. My goal is to create a space where you feel affirmed, supported, and respected.

Whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, life transitions, or trauma, I draw on evidence-based modalities such as Culturally Adapted Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CA-CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy. I also integrate Culturally Affirming and mindfulness-based practices to support your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

We are all deeply interconnected. Our environment shapes who we are - informing our sense of identity, how we see ourselves, and how we relate to others. In African philosophy, this interconnectedness is captured by the Nguni proverb, “umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu,” which means “a person is a person through other people.” It reminds us that our humanity is bound up in one another—that we exist and thrive through relationship, community, and care.

This philosophy teaches us to shift our perspective—from blame to understanding, from isolation to connection. When we normalize emotional pain and recognize the systems and circumstances that contribute to our distress, we make space for healing without shame.

Anxiety and depression can feel isolating, but healing was never meant to be a solitary journey. We heal in connection with ourselves, with one another, and within our communities. Community care isn’t just an idea; it’s the foundation of true mental wellness.

It's time to take an anti-oppressive and liberated approach to Mental Health.

Healing begins when we reconnect with our true nature—when we return to the parts of ourselves that have been disconnected by stress, anxiety, depression, low self-worth, anger, chronic illness, disability, shame, or guilt.

Life continually invites us to rewrite our stories—to heal, to grow, and to rediscover who we truly are. This is your moment. Let’s begin.
