 Chisomo Msosa (She/Her)

MSW, RSW, Psychotherapist

My name is Chisomo Msosa and I am a registered social worker and psychotherapist. Working in the community for the past ten years, I have developed a strong appreciation for holistic approaches to well-being. I work from an understanding that there is no “one-size-fits-all” model when it comes to your mental health and wellness. I strive to create a welcoming, collaborative and inclusive space that is non-judgmental, compassionate, and anti-oppressive.

My approach is client-centered and I use an integrative therapeutic model to help you gain clarity, grow, and make meaningful connections to self, others, and the greater environment around you. I have experience working with youth and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, substance abuse, chronic illness and disability, sexual assault and gender-based violence, racial trauma, and discrimination. In addition to supporting individuals dealing with stress, self-esteem issues, and life transitions.

I have a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Toronto and a Master’s in Critical Disability Studies from York University. I am passionate about my growth as a therapist and continually engage in professional development to further support you, work towards your goals, and increase your sense of wellbeing.

I am skilled and experienced in the following short and long-term therapeutic approaches:

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

  • Afrocentric

  • Mindfulness

  • Solution Focused Therapy

  • Motivational Interviewing

I support individuals 18 years of age and older. At this time, I am offering virtual online services.
